Police Investigation
Investigation is a type of search where investigation officer collect evidence. The proceedings come under the criminal procedure code which is call crpc. Section 2(h) of crpc includes investigation as all proceedings under the code for collecting evidence conducted by police officer or by any person (other than a magistrate) who is authorized by a magistrate in this behalf.
Under section 156(1) of crpc officer in charge of a police
station or depute to his subordinate, if investigation is conducted by the head
constable has to be verified or completed by the officer in charge of the
police station.
The aim of investigation is to gather evidence to determine of crime has been committed and if so, the identity of the person who are responsible .Officer ascertain and record the facts concern with the commission of crime, identify criminal and hi accomplice and secure, preserve and evaluate evidence and put evidence in court in prescribed form.he must report the result of such investigation to the officer in charge of the police station.
